Training on the validation of the results of medical analyzes
A four-day training (27-30 December 2017) was held at the National Institute for Biomedical Research (INRB) on the validation of laboratory results.
The main objective was to teach INRB technicians and scientists the importance, the principles and the process of validating the results of a medical analysis according to the international standard (ISO / IEC 17025 and ISO 9001) .
Training was therefore considered necessary to strengthen the capacity of INRB’s scientific staff to maintain the quality of diagnosis and improve patient care.
A total of 15 participants including: laboratory technicians, medical biologists and biology doctors working in the various departments of the INRB, took part in this training; led by experienced animators from INRB and UNIKIN.
It was a participatory formation putting the learner at the center of his interests. At the end of these four days, the participants received an introduction to the general concepts and principles of validation in bacteriology, clinical biology, virology & pathology anatomy and parasitology, respectively.
The trainers showed the participants the importance of validation for a laboratory and the process to be followed in this process based on international quality standards in the laboratory.
Theoretical sessions were devoted to the lectures in the room in the form of oral presentations which were followed by discussions and feedback by the facilitator for the understanding and assimilation of received notions and practical introductory sessions at the bench.

The participants were at the end, on this occasion, edified on the importance and the different steps to follow to validate the results produced in the laboratory before making it available or that they are communicated to the requesting clinician.
This training was supported by the RIPSEC program through its INRB branch within the framework of ongoing programs on capacity building of Public Health Schools and INRB.
